What is Conductive Education?

Conductive Education (CE) was developed in the 1940’s in Hungary, at what became known as the “Pető Institute”.

How we can help

At Steps we pride ourselves on supporting the whole family not just the child, although the child will always be our main focus we know the importance of offering care and support to the whole family.

A typical day at Steps

One of the main features of Conductive Education is the Daily Routine. The Daily Routine is a timetable of activities which reflect the integrated system of learning in Conductive Education.

Steps was started in 1994 by four families who realised the benefits gained by their children from Conductive Education.

We are funded by The National Lottery Community Fund to run our Chatterbox group which takes place every day.

Children In Need part fund two of our teaching staff at Steps.

We would like to say a big thank you to the many Trusts and Foundations that support Steps every year, without this help Steps wouldn’t be the organisation that it is today. We rely on grants and donations to support the running of Steps which costs £250,000 every year.
